ACCESSIBILITY: Unfortunately, the Belle Epoque is not wheelchair accessible, but you could consider taking the Golden Pass Express, which still offers the same route and exceptional scenery, and even carries on past Zweisimmen on to Interlaken.
ONBOARD SERVICES: There are no food or drink services onboard, but you are allowed to bring your own. So why not take Swiss chocolates or cheeses for an authentic experience!

- Standard tickets: Prices for a full journey, one way are CHF 34, but less if you get off at an earlier stop.
- First-class tickets: Expect to pay around CHF 58 one way, and again less if you get off at an earlier stop.
What’s the difference between second and first class? To be honest, not a lot. The first class seats are slightly bigger, but you don’t get anything else included with a first class ticket.

Do I Need to Reserve a Seat?

My Top Tips for Enjoying the Golden Pass Belle Epoque Train
Travel During the Week
Seats fill up quickly, especially on weekends. Advance booking will ensure you can travel on a Saturday or Sunday. However, keep in mind that if you are reserving a seat in 2nd class, your seat will be in carriage 21. While still beautiful, the seats on this carriage are wooden benches, rather than the aquamarine seats you may have seen on Instagram.
That’s why I recommend travelling during the week, as reservations are not usually required. Sometimes will even have the whole carriage to yourself.
Travel Light
While the train has room for luggage, the vintage carriages are snug. Large suitcases definitely won’t fit, but there is some space between seats for medium sized bags. Pack lightly to avoid any inconvenience.
